The College of Dental Hygienists of British Columbia regulates the practice of dental hygiene in BC. There are over 2600 dental hygienists registered to practice with the College of Dental Hygienists of British Columbia. The mandate of the College is to ensure that dental hygiene practice is carried on in the best interests of the public.

The College of Dental Hygienists sets practice standards, a code of ethics and quality assurance requirements for dental hygienists practicing in British Columbia.

National Certification

In order to register with the College of Dental Hygienists of BC, you must have certification from the National Dental Hygiene Certification Board. The purpose of this certification is to provide a national standard for assessment of candidates for entry into the practice of dental hygiene and to facilitate portability between the dental hygiene regulatory authorities in all Canadian jurisdictions.
